Bring your kids to work day – School District 72

November 16, 2012

BC Centre for Aquatic Health Sciences welcomes School District 72 students for “Take Our Kids to Work day”. On Friday, November 16, 2012, two Campbell River high school students spent the day at the BC Centre for Aquatic Health Sciences (BC CAHS) learning about aquatic health science. Cole Houlihan, Grade 10 student from Carihi and son of Research Assistant Elan Downey, and Jasper Taberner, Grade 9 student from Timberline and daughter of Office Manager Tina McMurdo, began their day with measuring and weighing juvenile pink and chum salmon and then were able to use the microscopes to examine the fish. As well, the students participated in logging data for ongoing diagnostic work that is happening at the lab.
