BC CAHS performs an in vitro bioassay protocol to determine the sensitivity of sea lice to treatments of emamectin benzoate (EMB; SLICE) and to hydrogen peroxide (Paramove).

Applications: This information can provide fish health experts an additional tool to help make decisions about treatment with EMB or Paramove throughout the growing cycle. Both treatments contribute to the optimum application of a sea lice management strategy.

Bioassays also have the potential to provide information about changes in sensitivity to EMB or to Paramove at the sea lice population level.
